Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards Take dental X-rays, as required Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate medical documentation in EMR system. Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices using proper dental terminology Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with front desk duties when needed Ensure all equipment is sterilized and maintained according to infection control protocols Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry to assist in procedures effectively Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient clinic workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques Skills Proficiency in EMR systems for managing patient records and documentation Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures across specialties like prosthodontics and endodontics Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and handling pediatric patients is a plus Competence in taking vital signs and understanding medical documentation requirements Excellent communication skills suitable for explaining procedures to patients of all ages including pediatrics Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate This position offers a rewarding career path for those committed to advancing their skills in dental assisting while contributing positively to patient care.
