Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Brea, CA

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with EMR systems. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote optimal oral health and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA. Experience in pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and medical imaging is highly desirable. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical history to ensure safe treatment procedures. Assist the dentist during various procedures using chairside assisting techniques, including medical imaging and documentation review. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to OSHA standards. Monitor patient comfort levels throughout procedures and address any concerns promptly. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care delivery. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proficiency with dental software such as Practice Web or Open Dental. Experience in general dentistry with additional skills in pediatric dentistry, medical coding, and documentation review advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting efficiently. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and EMR systems. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred; internship experience is also valuable.
