Job Responsibilities Promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols. Prepare the patient for dental hygiene treatment Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening and sterilizing instruments. Applying fluorides and other cavity- preventing agents Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions and providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protect patient and collogues by adhering to COVID-19 policies and protocol Maintain dental supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipated need of supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
