Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists during procedures. This position requires proficiency in various dental practices, including chairside assisting, knowledge of dental terminology, and familiarity with EMR systems. The Orthodontic Assistant will ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable and efficient environment. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient documentation and record management. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when required. Ensure infection control protocols are followed, maintaining a clean and sterile environment. Assist with medical documentation and maintain accurate medical records. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, particularly in orthodontics or pediatric dentistry. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques is essential. Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and medical documentation is a plus. Experience with 3D scanners and general dentistry practices is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
