Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Virginia Beach, VA

Must have the ability and desire to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment while providing best-in-class customer service. With a focus on surgery and tooth replacement Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials as allowed within scope of state regulations Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in the patient management system. Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with dental receptionists to optimize patient flow. Set-up/breakdown rooms, Sterilize and maintain instruments, equipment, and rooms providing a clean and professional environment Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Provide patient with post-op instructions and oral care Assist with presenting and discussing treatment plans Experience with removable prosthodontics such as dentures and partials preferred Experienced in taking impressions for dentures preferred Experience with oral surgery preferred Assist in administrative tasks as needed Requirements Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred X-ray certification High School Education or equivalent Proficiency in using dental systems such as Dentrix is advantageous. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry. Ability to take vital signs and recognize changes in patient conditions during appointments. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance within the practice.
