Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Richmond, VA

Chief Purpose of the Position The Floater Dental Assistant will be part of the Pediatric Dental team at VCU Dental Care, providing chairside and clinical support to ensure efficient and high-quality dental care delivery. This position assists faculty, residents, and staff across multiple operatories, maintains infection control standards, sterilizes instruments, takes radiographs, prepares rooms and materials, and supports patient comfort and care throughout treatment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, materials, and sterilization techniques Knowledge of dental radiography procedures and state/federal radiation safety standards Understanding of infection control and OSHA/HIPAA compliance requirements Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, students, and staff Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude and provide excellent customer service Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic dental record systems X-ray certification required Education and Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent required Dental Assistant experience preferred Current CPR certification preferred Brief Summary of Benefits: Benefits for this position include, but are not limited to Health and Group Life Insurance, Vision, Dental Insurance and Dental Discounts, Flexible Spending Participation, and Paid Holidays.
