Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support overall oral health education. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience and maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and calculus. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments and sealants. Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while ensuring patient safety. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using Eaglesoft. Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records for relevant health information prior to treatment. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Collaborate with dentists during procedures utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Tennessee. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and documentation review processes. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively within a team. Knowledge of medical coding and documentation standards relevant to dental practices. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
