Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and medical documentation. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics specialties. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred to facilitate efficient patient record management. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials following aseptic techniques and infection control standards Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Maintain sterilization of dental tools and equipment according to infection control protocols Assist with medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when applicable Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Keep abreast of current dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and emerging technologies like digital imaging to enhance patient care Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms for managing medical records and documentation Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively while maintaining ALARA principles Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Skilled in taking vital signs and performing basic medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and documentation accurately Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Dental Assistant eager to contribute to a compassionate dental team dedicated to improving patients’ oral health through skilled assistance and exceptional service.
