Job description: Are you a motivated and organized individual looking to join a positive and welcoming dental practice? We are seeking a dedicated dental assistant to support our general dental practice, where Dr. Weigel, a sole practitioner, delivers exceptional care to our diverse patient base, including multi-generational families. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our dentist during procedures, developing X-rays, managing patient records, and interacting with patients to ensure they feel comfortable and informed about their treatment. Our office hours are Monday - Thursday and one Saturday a month. Clinical duties: Prepare and set up treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures. Perform chairside assisting for dentists and dental hygienists during exams and treatments. Process dental radiographs (X-rays). Process dental impressions. Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control and OSHA standards. Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Stay updated on infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Provide patients with oral hygiene and post-operative instructions. Manage dental and medical emergencies if necessary. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred, but we value potential and transferable skills as well. Familiarity with medical terminology, dental terminology and medical documentation practices is preferred. Knowledge of infection control procedures relevant to dental practices. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism at all times. Proficiency in using dental software systems; familiarity with Dentrix is an advantage.
