Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our full-time team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care and supporting clinical operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow within the dental practice, assisting with chairside procedures, maintaining infection control standards, and managing patient documentation. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality dental services in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), utilizing digital imaging systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epic or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and data security. Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient health status before procedures to ensure safety during treatments. Support the dental team with administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the front desk as needed. Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners for prosthodontic or orthodontic cases to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry and specialty areas such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing vital signs measurement. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Experience operating digital imaging systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems; familiarity with Epic is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient and staff safety. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical coding are a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and documentation accurately.
