Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and implants with precision and confidence. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining an aseptic environment in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accuracy for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Support patient care by taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures clearly to reduce anxiety and improve understanding. Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize workflow efficiency and enhance patient comfort. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting with endo and implant procedures, taking vital signs, and applying aseptic techniques. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Experience working with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Open Dental for scheduling, charting, billing, and record management. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; experience with digital imaging and 3D scanners is a plus. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to provide compassionate care tailored for young patients. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists while delivering exceptional patient service.
