Job Summary MUST BE XRAY CERTIFIED We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental setting, utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient care. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform vital signs assessment and document medical history for new and returning patients Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care procedures Maintain infection control standards by following sterilization procedures and proper disposal of contaminated materials Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting with billing or coding as needed Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to aid diagnosis and treatment planning Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Ability to take high-quality X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment safely Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices is desirable Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Certification or training in chairside assisting preferred; additional certifications in radiography or pediatrics are advantageous Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security This position offers an engaging environment where you can apply your dental assisting skills while advancing your career through ongoing professional development.
