Job Overview MUST BE XRAY CERTIFIED We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support dentists during various procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on comprehensive patient care, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Maintain cleanliness of the clinic environment adhering to infection control standards Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners Experience in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is preferred Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics Excellent communication skills for patient education regarding medical terminology and oral health care instructions Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security This position provides an engaging opportunity for qualified individuals passionate about delivering exceptional dental care while working within a professional team dedicated to patient well-being.
