Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Baltimore, MD

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and delivering exceptional patient care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering a comprehensive understanding of general and pediatric dentistry. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history accurately for each patient Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as needed Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to OSHA standards and infection control procedures Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and infection control practices Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical documentation standards Experience using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Certification in radiography or X-ray certification required or preferred Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security This position offers an engaging environment for those passionate about oral health care.
