Dental Assistant - Cornerstone Dental Lounge - Battle Ground, WA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services. This position requires someone willing to learn dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a start-up dental practice. Experience is heavily recommended, and also must be willing to learn the duties of the job. We are looking for someone who has a hospitality mindset and wants to help contribute to improving the lives of others. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments such as fillings, crowns, extractions and root canals. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate medical records/notes and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and checking in patients. Utilize dental technologies when applicable. Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable environment during their visits. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and medical records management is helpful. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is advantageous. Understanding of prosthodontics is a plus but not mandatory. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Certification in CPR or First Aid is preferred. Have a DA State License. Having an EFDA License is a plus, but not required. A positive attitude, attention to detail, good communication skills, an open mind to learning new things and the ability to work well under pressure are essential traits for success in this role.
