Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures and familiarity with dental terminology, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient comfort. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols. Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Manage patient flow and ensure a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including those in pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate medical documentation and assist with medical coding as needed. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient inquiries. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, including the use of 3D scanners. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with exposure to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and dental terminology is essential. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Experience in medical imaging and handling medical records is a plus.
