Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to all safety and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems and proficiency in dental terminology are essential for success in this position. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent oral disease Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate aseptic techniques Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR systems Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations and sterilization standards Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients Adhere to all dental office policies regarding medical coding, documentation review, and patient confidentiality Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice Proven experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, general dentistry procedures, and medical imaging techniques Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and documentation review processes Ability to perform patient care with compassion and professionalism in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration Experience with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting and vital signs measurement is highly desirable Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus This position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive team dedicated to providing high-quality dental care while fostering professional growth.
