Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care across a variety of specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, medical documentation, and patient care to create a positive experience for all patients. The Registered Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining efficient clinic operations and supporting the dental team in delivering comprehensive oral health services. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control standards are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices tailored to pediatric or adult patients as needed. Maintain proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes. Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Collaborate with the dental team on treatment planning for complex cases involving endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatrics. Assist with administrative duties such as answering patient questions related to dental procedures or insurance processes when required. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in the state of practice. Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards to ensure patient privacy and safety. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices. Experience with chairside assisting techniques including aseptic procedures and four-handed dentistry practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across different age groups including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism at all times.
