Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and documentation. This role involves providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering exceptional dental care across general dentistry and prosthodontics. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, etc. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies while maintaining aseptic technique. Take and develop X-rays and dental imaging; ensure proper handling in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Update patient medical records accurately using EMR systems. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance. Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Manage documentation including coding procedures for insurance claims and billing purposes. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when needed. Stay informed about advancements in dental technology including 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools. Requirements Valid Washington State Registered Dental Assistant license or certification required. Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting; experience with general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic; familiarity with dental coding and documentation standards (HIPAA compliance). Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate X-ray machines and utilize medical imaging equipment safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures including vital signs measurement and chairside support for various treatments. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with the dental team. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
