Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. Experience in pediatric dentistry is valued, as our practice serves patients of all ages. Patient care hours M-Th 8-5pm Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, utilizing knowledge of medical imaging and radiography standards. Manage patient records by accurately documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, ensuring they understand their treatment plans. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Assist in various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is required (1 or more years). Proficiency with EMR systems such as CurveHero Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with medical documentation standards. Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical coding is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members alike.
