Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Prior experience with dental software and a solid understanding of dental procedures are highly valued. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including orthodontics and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in EMR systems Manage medical documentation and records efficiently, including medical coding and data entry Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental assisting Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms Experience with dental imaging including X-ray techniques and 3D scanning technology Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and pediatric patient management Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental treatments including four-handed dentistry Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and infection control protocols Skilled in taking vital signs and performing medical imaging accurately Experience with general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics is preferred Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and support team collaboration This position is integral to delivering high-quality dental care while fostering a welcoming environment for patients.
