Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EMR systems, particularly Denticon is highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials to the dentist. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and recording medical history. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff. Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Denticon, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical imaging techniques. Familiarity with various dental specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics is beneficial. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining patient comfort. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a team-oriented environment. Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred.
