Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and support overall oral health education. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all patients. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software such as Open Dental is preferred. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive dental care in a fast-paced clinical setting. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Assist with chairside procedures including four-handed dentistry and medical records documentation review. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in EMR systems like Open Dental. Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including infection control and sterilization procedures. Stay current with advancements in dental terminology and general dentistry practices. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment accurately. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review processes. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
