Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth operations within the dental clinic. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take dental X-rays Record vital signs and medical history, update medical documentation, and manage electronic health records using Curve Dental Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Manage appointment scheduling as a dental receptionist when needed, coordinating patient flow effectively. Assist with medical imaging procedures and understand dental terminology to communicate effectively with the team. Maintain inventory of supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols. Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment tailored to their needs. Skills Proficiency in EMR system (Curve) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality. Experience with X-ray techniques, Familiarity with dental terminology across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry and infection control practices. Competence in taking vital signs and understanding medical terminology for comprehensive patient care. Experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on medical coding and documentation accuracy.
