Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including cleanings, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans. Assist dentists with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques that enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays and other diagnostic images while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and adhering to confidentiality standards. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental or clinical setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical coding practices. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred for efficient documentation review and record keeping. Background in pediatric dentistry or pediatrics is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and understanding pediatric-specific needs. Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to perform thorough patient assessments and vital signs measurement. Knowledge of medical records management and familiarity with medical imaging techniques enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive care.
