Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. This role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical and dental terminology knowledge, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent customer service skills. Bilingual abilities and prior dental office experience are highly valued to enhance patient communication and clinic efficiency. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette Schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and handle patient intake efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing using Meditech, Epic, or other EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Collect payments and process medical collections accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance Prepare and review medical records, documentation, and care plans for accuracy and completeness Assist dentists during procedures by passing instruments, maintaining sterilization protocols, and supporting clinical workflows Manage patient records electronically, ensuring proper documentation review in compliance with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized office files Support office management activities such as inventory management, appointment scheduling, and front desk operations Experience Prior experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment is preferred Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD), insurance verification, and health information management systems is essential Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks is a plus Strong understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and documentation review processes Bilingual skills are advantageous for effective communication with diverse patient populations Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (10 key typing) Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle front desk duties professionally in a fast-paced environment This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive team environment where your skills in both clinical assistance and administrative support will be valued.
