Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive measures to maintain long-term dental health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient and comfortable patient experiences. Take and interpret medical imaging such as digital X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records responsibly. Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting treatment areas, and following all safety guidelines. Collaborate with the dental team to review documentation, assist with medical coding, and ensure seamless clinic operations. Experience Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is required. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and chairside assisting. Experience in infection prevention protocols, medical imaging interpretation, and maintaining medical records aligns with our high standards for quality care. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous; ongoing education in medical coding or healthcare documentation is encouraged.
