Overview We are seeking to hire a Lead Pediatric Dental Hygienist. The Lead Pediatric Dental Hygienist will work closely with our Clinical Manager to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients and to lead our team of assistants. Responsibilities Lead and perform comprehensive dental hygiene services tailored specifically for pediatric patients, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, SDF, intraoral photos, and sealants. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history review, and evaluating oral health status. Utilize dental software systems to documentation, treatment planning, and record keeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients. Supervise and mentor dental assisting staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in pediatric dentistry and infection control. Skills Extensive knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques, including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting. Strong understanding of medical imaging procedures relevant to pediatric patients. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and their guardians. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical records management. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and efficiently. Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge specific to pediatric patients. Strong organizational skills for documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining detailed patient records.
