Job Summary We are a small, busy dental office open Monday - Thursday with a close-knit staff. We are looking for a dental hygienist 3 days a week who values being part of a work culture that supports quality, excellence, and good will among co-workers and patients. Our ideal candidate would be a friendly person who is passionate about dentistry, with a strong foundation in all aspects of dental hygiene and a desire to learn more and expand his or her skill set. Ability to communicate effectively is a must. We use Open Dental software and Dexis. Pay is commensurate with experience. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth. Assess patients' oral health by taking vital signs and reviewing medical records. Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques in all procedures. Stay informed about advancements in dental hygiene practices and maintain knowledge of dental terminology. Requirements Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Proficiency in medical coding, medical terminology, and understanding of general dentistry principles. Familiarity with infection control standards and HIPAA regulations. Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Experience with vital signs assessment and maintaining medical records is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.
