Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide preventive care, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Duties: - Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing - Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and taking vital signs - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff - Stay informed about the latest advancements in dental hygiene techniques and technologies Qualifications: - Valid Dental Hygiene license in NY - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program - Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options - Proficiency in using dental software for charting and scheduling - Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients - Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals - Experience working in a dental office or clinic preferred Skills: - Experience working with Adults and Children patients and providing age-appropriate dental care. - HIPAA: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality. - Patient assessment: Ability to assess patient oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans. - Assisting: Proficiency in assisting the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials. - Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of dental anatomy and its relation to oral health. - Systems: Familiarity with dental office systems and protocols for efficient patient care. - Infection control: Adherence to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
