Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage electronic health records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate documentation of patient histories, medical records, and treatment plans Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge to support efficient patient care Collect vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse; monitor patient comfort throughout procedures Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing dental coding for billing purposes Operate advanced equipment like 3D scanners while ensuring proper maintenance and calibration for precise imaging Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on general dentistry Demonstrated proficiency in dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing medical documentation Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security Hands-on experience with infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Ability to interpret dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for accurate recordkeeping Experience working with specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred but not required Strong communication skills suitable for interacting effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics Join us in delivering compassionate care through technical excellence!
