Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and terminology. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing patient assessments, cleaning teeth, and supporting the dental team with various clinical tasks while ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is preferred, along with knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using proper aseptic techniques Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories within EMR systems like Eaglesoft Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, adhering to medical coding standards where applicable Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably at least a year. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently and effectively Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance Effective communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with team members This position is integral to delivering high-quality dental care while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all patients.
