Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. This role is vital in delivering high-quality dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. The Dental Assistant will utilize various EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to maintain accurate medical documentation and records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Prior experience with dental imaging, X-ray techniques, and infection control protocols is highly valued. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards Take and develop dental X-rays and operate 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Obtain vital signs and medical history information; document medical terminology accurately in records Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols including sterilization of instruments Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting with billing or coding as needed Ensure the dental clinic operates smoothly by collaborating with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and endodontics preferred Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for medical records management Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately Certification or training in chairside assisting; knowledge of medical coding is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health procedures and post-care instructions Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is desirable but not mandatory This position offers an opportunity to be part of a professional team committed to delivering exceptional dental care while supporting your growth within the field.
