Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, assist with patient care, and ensure the smooth functioning of daily dental procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental services in pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and handling dental materials. Operate and manage electronic health records (EMR systems)in Eaglesoft, accurate medical documentation and record-keeping. Take and develop dental X-rays using appropriate techniques, ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance using proper dental terminology. Manage patient flow efficiently by assisting with check-in/check-out processes similar to a dental receptionist role. Maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry to assist with procedures involving pediatric patients or specialized treatments. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques is essential. Familiarity with dental imaging technologies including X-ray machines and 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health is required. Certification or training in dental assisting programs that include skills like vital signs measurement, medical documentation, or pediatric dentistry is preferred.
