Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. Experience with EMR systems and dental office software such as Eaglesoft is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote a comfortable and efficient patient experience in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and root planning and polishing teeth in accordance with best practices. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans tailored to their needs. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating familiarity with pediatric dental care standards. Utilize dental terminology accurately during patient interactions and documentation. Manage medical records efficiently within EMR systems, ensuring accurate documentation of patient care activities. Collaborate with the dentist and other team members to ensure smooth clinic operations and optimal patient outcomes. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic settings; experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and pediatrics is preferred. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.
