Summary: Corwin Family Dentistry is looking for a reliable, outgoing dental assistant. This person is primarily responsible for preparing the examination rooms for appointments by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the dentist. They will also assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs throughout the appointment. The dental assistant is also responsible for greeting patients and ensuring that the patients experience is comfortable. Duties and Responsibilities: Preparing Patients for dental work Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures Providing great patient care Recording treatment information in patient records Giving patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist Caring for dental equipment Assisting in ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory Prepare treatment rooms Preform digital x-rays Orthodontic adjustments Explaining necessary treatment and presenting financial options to patients Knowledge and Skills: High School diploma or GED required Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program preferred but all applicants will be considered Previous dental assisting work preferred but all applicants will be considered Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines Possess a professional appearance and positive attitude Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Paid time off Work Location: In person
