Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to strict infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems, dental terminology, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations and maintain high standards of patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to prevent oral disease. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health. Assist in chairside procedures such as medical imaging, documentation review, and medical coding. Maintain accurate and detailed dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique and sterilization of instruments. Collaborate with dentists during procedures involving general dentistry and pediatric dentistry cases. Monitor patient comfort throughout treatment sessions and address any concerns promptly. Stay current with advancements in dental terminology, EMR systems, and documentation standards to ensure quality care delivery. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix for charting and documentation management. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, medical records management, and infection control procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry techniques, and chairside assisting. Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical imaging, and patient care with professionalism. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical coding for accurate billing processes. CPR certified Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred; familiarity with EMR systems is a plus.
