Wage flexibility heavily dependent on experience, personality & competence. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EFDA Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take X-ray images while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards Record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans Maintain infection control standards by following proper sterilization procedures and handling medical imaging equipment safely Assist with administrative tasks including data entry into EMR systems, creating treatment plans and coding for billing purposes Occasionally supporting the dental reception area when needed Experience 3+ years experience strongly preferred Familiarity with dental terminology and documentation processes Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental, or Epic Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dentistry X-Ray certification required Ability to communicate effectively This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills contribute directly to patient health and satisfaction.
