Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation as a dental receptionist. Utilize advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, demonstrating patience and effective communication tailored for young patients. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to all safety guidelines for radiation exposure. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience supporting chairside assisting in multiple specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, medical documentation, and medical coding processes. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry techniques. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
