Job Overview Join our vibrant pediatric dental team as a Full-Time Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA), where your expertise will directly contribute to creating a positive, comfortable experience for our young patients. In this dynamic role, you will support the delivery of exceptional dental care by assisting the dentist with chairside procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, restorations, and orthodontic treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms with all necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately using Open Dental, including updating medical history, treatment notes, and medical documentation. Monitor vital signs and medical history of young patients to ensure their safety throughout dental visits. Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions in a clear and friendly manner. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards specific to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry practices. Support the front desk team by handling dental receptionist duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently. Skills Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems), especially Open Dental, for seamless documentation. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, including age-specific patient care approaches. Experience with dental imaging techniques such as X-ray procedures for comprehensive diagnostics. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric patients. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently while practicing aseptic technique during procedures involving pediatric dental procedures. Familiarity with infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA standards to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with children and their guardians to foster trust and cooperation during visits.
