We are looking for friendly, hard-working assistants to support our dentist during surgical and sedation procedures! This clinicâs top two goals are to provide the best possible treatment to patients and do everything we can to make their experience extremely positive and safe! Procedures performed in this clinic are limited only to surgical dental procedures to include wisdom teeth extractions, implant placements, bone grafts, and IV moderate sedation. A genuinely HUMBLE ATTITUDE is our highest criteria. To be successful as an oral surgery assistant, you should be highly organized and attentive to patients' needs, have an excellent bedside manner, a positive attitude, exceptional hand-eye coordination, and a willingness to always do more than what is required. Job Requirements: No previous dental or oral surgery assisting experience required â training will primarily be âon-the-job training." Ability to learn/understand how to use oral surgical equipment, instruments, and materials. Ability to learn/understand surgical techniques, chairside responsibilities, and health and safety protocols. Ability to learn/understand dental records, charts, and documentation. Great organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances. Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude. Job Responsibilities: Help with all aspects of both patient care and office operations as directed by the dentist Collecting patient information and assessing patient ASA status Preparing patients and preparing equipment/instruments for surgery Assisting the dentist during all procedures Monitoring patient vitals and airway during procedures as well as during recovery, and intervening when necessary Operating X-ray and 3D scanning equipment Making post-op phone calls Wiping down/cleaning operatory. Preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols Monitoring inventory levels, replenishing and ordering dental supplies Performing administrative tasks as needed to include front desk responsibilities such as appointment scheduling Preparing patient charts, updating procedure notes Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $16.00 per hour Benefits: Paid time off Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Work Location: In person
