Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and supporting overall dental health initiatives. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, excellent patient communication skills, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all patients, including pediatric and general dentistry cases. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleanings and scaling to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and medical histories Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures using aseptic techniques Document treatment notes accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Review and update medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and patient care coordination Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and handling of dental instruments Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, ensuring a gentle approach for young patients Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review to ensure accurate recordkeeping Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics preferred Proficiency with dental software systems such as Open Dental or Dentrix is highly desirable Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on pediatrics when applicable Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation review processes Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively on oral health practices Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines Pay: $37.00 - $42.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 â 36.0 per week Work Location: In person
