Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry are highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. WEDNESDAY ONLY Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates Assist with patient assessment and review medical histories to ensure safe treatment planning Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Use dental imaging equipment to capture intraoral images as needed Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing patient comfort Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating patience and gentle care for young patients Adhere to dental terminology standards for clear communication within the team Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred Experience with medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and infection control protocols Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, general dentistry procedures, and dental terminology Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical records management Ability to perform chairside assisting with professionalism and compassion Excellent patient care skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on oral health practices Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes is a plus Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices is highly desirable Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and infection prevention techniques Join our team to make a positive impact on patients’ oral health while working in a supportive environment that values professional growth and excellence in patient care.
