Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all patients. Experience with EMR systems and dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with the dental team to deliver comprehensive oral health services, including pediatric dentistry when applicable. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Conduct patient assessments and review medical histories to tailor treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Capture and interpret dental radiographs using medical imaging equipment while maintaining aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment. Collaborate with dentists to review treatment plans and ensure proper documentation review for billing and coding purposes. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, providing compassionate care tailored to children’s needs. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinics; experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other EMR systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic technique. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding standards. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Prior experience in dental assisting or chairside assisting is highly desirable.
