Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our growing private practice dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting oral health and providing quality care to our patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care in a friendly and professional environment. If you do not have a scheduled patient we would ask you to assist the doctors or assistants with dental exams, xrays, treatment planning, or clerical work up front. Responsibilities Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Perform infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment. Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Denticon for patient records management. Willing to learn new digital software. Assist with medical imaging procedures, including X-rays, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Stay updated on medical terminology and coding practices relevant to dental procedures. Learn to setup follow up appointments as well as assist front and back staff when not with a patient. Scan for digital impressions for removal appliances, invisalign consults etc. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Proficiency in infection control protocols within a dental clinic environment. Experience with dental software systems and on-time completion of patient notes. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment is a must. Familiarity with dental terminology and coding for all cleaning procedures as well as knowledgeable on restorative dental treatments. Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a friendly atmosphere.
