Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient dental practice. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to all safety and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred, along with a solid knowledge of pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, and dental terminology. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health for patients. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs using medical imaging techniques while adhering to infection control standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical records and documentation to ensure comprehensive patient care. Follow aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure the safety of patients and staff. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry when applicable. Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings; familiarity with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other EMR systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus. Proficiency in infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Strong patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and safeguarding patient confidentiality.
