Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans, to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system Open Dental, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Gather vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments and coordinate with medical documentation standards Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist to enhance patient flow Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and medical imaging procedures Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation Experience with dental software platform Open Dental for managing patient data effectively Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure safety for patients and staff Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with children to create a positive experience Ability to operate advanced dental equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines with precision Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, hygienists, receptionists, and patients in a team-oriented environment Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference!
