Dental Hygienist (Part-time) - Brian D Devers DDS - San Diego, CA

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice Thursdays starting January 2026 (could lead to more days if desired). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental hygiene and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing quality oral care to patients and assisting the dentist in various procedures. Duties: - Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and debridement - Take dental radiographs (x-rays) - Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as directed by the dentist - Conduct thorough oral examinations and assess patients' oral health conditions - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions - Perform periodontal charting and maintain accurate patient records - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff - Utilize dental software systems (Dentrix Ascend) to manage patient records, appointments, and treatment plans - Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times Qualifications: - Valid state dental hygiene license - Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program - Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures - Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry - Proficiency in infection control practices and sterilization techniques - Understanding of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for creating dental restorations is a plus - Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
