Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred, but will consider on the job training, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices. Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental services in a professional and compassionate environment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures Assist dentists during various dental treatments, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques Take dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper safety protocols are followed Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures Maintain infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and other medical imaging devices as needed Assist with administrative tasks such as medical coding, documentation, and updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a child-friendly environment Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation standards Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices to ensure patient confidentiality and safety Ability to perform chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques and vital signs measurement Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and use of 3D scanners preferred Strong understanding of dental terminology across various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members Ability to maintain high standards of aseptic technique and infection control protocols Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing as required by state regulations Join our team to contribute to delivering exceptional dental care while advancing your professional skills in a supportive environment committed to excellence.
