Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our boutique practice. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency with various dental software systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment focused on providing exceptional dental services across general dentistry. The RDA will support the dental team by delivering chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring infection control standards are maintained. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation is essential for maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies using aseptic techniques Take digital X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Open Dental Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and equipment Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, documentation, and record keeping Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent certification Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is a plus Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental; familiarity with medical coding and documentation preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of patient care Commitment to maintaining aseptic techniques and adhering to safety guidelines We are a very close knit staff who view each other as family.
